SAFETY • FUN • LEARNING
At Hilltop Mountain Shredders Summer Camp safety is our highest priority, both physical and emotional. We have gone to great lengths to ensure that the camp is welcoming and inclusive.
Medical/First Aid
In the base area, we have a full-service Bike Patrol office dedicated to camp and able to address injuries and illnesses. Hilltop has a Patrol team on duty at all times camp is in session. Patrollers are well-trained in emergency response and rescue throughout the park. Everyone at Hilltop — staff, public, and campers — are constantly under the watchful eye of Hilltop Patrol.
Supervision
Camp counselor-to-camper ratio ensures a high degree of safety. Campers are always accompanied by coaches or counselors on the hill.
Camp Safety & Rules
From the moment campers arrive, our staff of experienced coaches and camp counselors ensures they are having a safe and fun experience. We do this by maintaining a strict safety protocol along with: Low camper-to-coach ratio, Adult supervision, Highly trained Patrol staff, NO drugs or alcohol, NO weapons, violence or abusive language, NO theft or vandalism, NO bullying, NO aggressive and dangerous behavior, Campers are not allowed to leave camp boundaries
Campers are expected to follow Hilltop Mountain Shredders rules, bike park rules, the Mountain Bike Responsibility Code and treat everyone at camp with courtesy and respect. Rules are strictly enforced, and violations will result in parent notifications and potential camper expulsion. If your camper is expelled from camp they will be removed from all activities and a immediate action for pick up must be communicated.
Coaching and Camp Counselors
The Hilltop coaching staff and Mountain Shredders Camp Counselors are all amazingly talented individuals and passionate about sharing their knowledge of the sport with new riders. Our staff come from a variety of backgrounds and their skills and passions on and off the bike add another layer to the overall camp experience.
Camp begins every Monday with a skills assessment and goal evaluation. Campers are then broken up into different groups. Our coach-to-camper ratio helps maximize safety and ensure a great camp experience.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT RIDER
We welcome all riding levels. Hilltop Bike Park offers trails for a full spectrum of abilities. We’ve hosted first-timers to advanced riders with years of experience. Our coaching staff is trained to evaluate campers and group them into ability levels. Please refer to our skills assessment page when enrolling.
PRACTICE MAKES PERMANENT
Most Mountain Shredder campers are intermediate to advanced riders who want to improve their skills, learn to catch some air, or hit a famous drop at Hilltop. Each day coaches teach valuable fundamentals to their group and work on them throughout the day.
You can pack your camper a lunch or you can purchase a pre-made camp-specific lunch from Finn’s Kitchen. We do suggest you send your child with a water bottle and an extra snack. We will have water available throughout the day if you child runs out.
We have a full service shop and well trained mechanics. If there is an issue during camp we will do our best to address the issue and let you know if it was fixed or still needs attention. Although we carry a lot of parts we might not have the exact part for your child’s bike. We recommend checking your child’s bike throughout the week to help insure there are no major issues.
